本場講座聚焦端傳媒過去十年的實踐與轉變，從一個跨地域運作的華文獨立媒體出發，回看在劇烈變動的政治與媒體環境中，一家以深度報導為核心的新聞機構如何找到自己的位置。

甯卉（Lulu）在端的任職，從記者、編輯、總編輯到出版人，她的角色變化，也讓她得以從不同層面参与端如何在有限資源中維持新聞品質、建立編輯方法、並逐步形成一個跨世代、跨語境的會員社群。

講座中，甯卉將分享端長期關注的議題與在地化策略：如何跨越華語世界的不同語境做在地報導；在讀者習慣與平台邏輯快速更迭的今天，獨立媒體如何持續提供值得信任的內容；以及端為何堅持訂閱制度，如何與會員共同參與新聞生產。

透過這些經驗，我們也將討論「讀者與媒體」關係的變化，與訂閱模式如何重新塑造獨立媒體的可能性。在新的技術條件、平台生態與政治環境下，獨立媒體面臨哪些現實挑戰？又在哪些縫隙中仍有機會？

講者簡介
甯卉是端傳媒的出版人和執行長。端傳媒成立於 2015 年，以華文視角報導亞洲與世界，並以會員支持為核心，專注提供深入、可信的新聞內容。甯卉曾任端傳媒總編輯，現負責整體策略、會員成長與產品方向。她多年關注中國與世界的連結，參與的多項跨地域合作報導曾獲多個新聞獎項。

How does a cross-regional Chinese-language independent media outlet find footing amid rapidly shifting political and media landscapes? As Initium Media turns 10, Ning Hui, current Publisher and CEO of Initium Media, reflects on the newsroom’s practices and transformation in its journey of centering in-depth reporting.

Ning Hui’s role had evolved throughout the years, from reporter, editor, editor-in-chief to publisher. At different stages and positions, she has participated in the organisation’s efforts to uphold quality journalism with limited resources, develop editorial methodologies, and gradually build a cross-generational, cross-contextual membership community.

In this talk, several key issues and localisation strategies of Initium’s constant priority will be raised: how to conduct local reporting across different linguistic and cultural contexts within the Chinese-speaking world; how independent media can continue to provide trustworthy content when reading habits and platform logics are evolving rapidly; why Initium insists on the subscription model; and how the organisation turns readers into collaborators in the news-making process.

About the Speaker
Ning Hui is the Publisher and CEO of Initium Media. Founded in 2015, Initium Media reports on Asia and the world through a Chinese-language lens, providing in-depth, trustworthy journalism with membership support at its core. Ning Hui previously served as Editor-in-Chief and currently oversees overall strategy, membership growth, and product direction. Her long-standing work on China’s connections with the world includes several cross-regional collaborative projects that have received multiple journalism awards.
