You know PASAR. But perhaps not quite like this.

The smell of something frying a few stalls away. Handwritten prices on cardboard. Traders calling out, conversations switching between languages. You went there for one thing; a few stalls later, your hands are full.

For IMMERSIO 2026, PASAR becomes the starting point for more than 100 artists and creative technologists from Malaysia and across Asia, each offering their own take on its encounters, exchanges, cultures and beautiful chaos through more than 70 works spanning digital and interactive art, projection, sculpture, visual works and performance.

IMMERSIO is a biennial new media art festival by Filamen that invites audiences to experience art beyond the usual gallery setting. For its 2026 edition, the familiar world of PASAR becomes something to look at again and experience it differently.

At GMBB, Level 5 becomes the festival’s main exhibition space, bringing together many interpretations of PASAR. Wander through the exhibition and see how artists across cultures and creative practices make something entirely their own out of a world so familiar to us.

You don’t need to know anything about new media art before you come, but start with something you already know.

First launched in 2017, IMMERSIO has grown into a platform for Southeast Asia’s digital and new media art scene, bringing emerging and established artists together to experiment, create and connect their works with audiences.

Over six editions, IMMERSIO has taken shape across spaces including Urbanscapes, Muzium Telekom and GMBB. Now returning for its seventh edition, the festival continues to evolve with the artists, ideas and creative practices shaping new media across the region.
