Merdeka 118: Collective Mural Activation

Be part of something bigger this KL Festival at the Merdeka 118: Collective Mural Activation—a vibrant community art experience where the public is invited to co-create a large-scale mural in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
This community activation programme transforms a previously neglected wall along Jalan Hang Jebat and Jalan Stadium into a meaningful visual landmark. Through collective mural painting, participants will contribute to a shared artwork that celebrates heritage, creativity, and community spirit—where stories of the past meet visions of the future.
No prior art experience is needed, simply step in, pick up a brush, and leave your mark. Whether you stay for a few minutes or a few hours, every contribution becomes part of a larger narrative that reflects the identity and vibrancy of the city.
What to expect:
A hands-on, drop-in mural painting experience guided by artists
