SUMMARY:In Conversation with God
DESCRIPTION:Art as God. Art as Savior. Art as Myth. Art as Religion. \n“In Conversation With God” follows five artists who bleed \nfor their respective art forms\, who are attempting to \nreconnect with the meaning behind why we make art. \nIs Art hope? Is Art catharsis? Release? God?

SUMMARY:The Ambitious Plan
DESCRIPTION:Experience a vibrant musical journey—from Bartók’s playful dances to Shocker’s lyrical flute concerto\, festive celebrations\, a bold new world premiere by Qayyum\, and a cinematic finale with The Ambitious Plan. \n—————————————————– \nMarking the return of BELIA’n Wind Symphony\, we proudly present our official return at the start of 2026 with our concert\, “The Ambitious Plan” held at the British International School of Kuala Lumpur (BSKL) auditorium. This performance marks the culmination of our three-year journey in fostering\, strengthening\, and reconnecting youth wind instrumentalists. \nBELIA’n Wind Symphony is a youth-level wind symphony committed to cultivating youth musicians by strengthening musicianship through meaningful connections and a supportive learning environment. We strive to showcase and promote local youth composers\, while representing the nation in local and international wind music festivals – celebrating cultural and musical experiences through friendship and music. \nThe first half of the programme will begin with the playful energy of Jinnawat’s Playground March\, with the rhythmic vitality of Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances. We then turn tp Schocker’s Green Places\, featuring soloist Sylvie Wong Xiu En\, offering elegance and harmonic beauty before moving into the reflective depth of Chorale for Peace by Deleruyelle. The first half ends with Shimoda’s Voyager Program\, highlighting the importance of discovery and explorationthat lies at the heart of musical growth and excellence. \nThe second half continues with Reed’s Viva Musica\, a diverse and celebratory overture that sets the stage for a world premiere work by local composer Qayyum bin Zainal\, encouraging local talents in the creative and musical landscape. Energy and drama continue with Perseus by Yagisawa\, uniquely featuring a choir part by the musicians themselves. The evening ends in Alberto Pina’s The Ambitious Plan – a passionate\, cinematic piece with an apotheotic ending that marks not only the end of the concert\, but also the continuation of BELIA’n Wind Symphony’s journey forward.

Radhe! 2.0 (Odissi) – The Sweet Surrender \nRadha\, the passionate and cherished beloved of the pastoral god Krishna\, is the protagonist of Sutra Foundation’s Odissi production\, Radhe! Radhe! which had its world premiere in Kuala Lumpur\, last October\, 2025. It is now set for its second season for 2026 followed by a Malaysia Tour. \nSutra has just returned from a triumphant India Tour of New Delhi\, Chandigarh and Vadodara\, as part of ICCR’s 11th International Dance and Music Festival. Even before that\, following its premiere in Kuala Lumpur\, Sutra Foundation had presented this work to the four major Odissi centres of Odisha – Kolkata\, Bhubaneswar\, Cuttack and New Delhi\, taking the cities by storm with superb reviews. \nThe second Malaysia season of Radhe! Radhe! 2.0 will be Sutra Foundation’s major offering for 2026. \nRadhe! Radhe! 2.0 will now take on a 7-city Malaysia Tour (Kuala Lumpur\, Seremban\, Klang\, Melaka\, Johor Bharu\, Kulim\, Penang) from April – June\, 2026. \nThe ecstatic love between the enigmatic and impulsive Radha\, the chosen gopi\, and the rather ‘incorrigible’ but irresistible Krishna\, has sparked inexhaustible medieval literature. Radha embodies the ’hladini shakti’\, the essence of Joy and Happiness within the essential spirit and ‘Maya’ of Krishna. Radha represents the individual soul who feels incomplete if separated from the source of its energy and raison d’etre – Krishna\, the Universal Spirit Incarnate. Radha\, the individual soul\, demands absolute devotion from her lover Krishna/Universal Spirit. Krishna’s attention is easily distracted by the adoration lavished upon him by other gopis. \nRadha and Krishna are bound in a mystico-erotic love relationship\, journeying through the full gamut of rasa — from lovers’ quarrels and painful separations to joyful reconciliation — culminating in Radha’s ultimate realisation and complete surrender to Krishna\, the eternal manifestation of the Universal Lover. \nThis production marks another significant Malaysia–India collaboration between Sutra Foundation\, led by Datuk Ramli Ibrahim\, and Bhubaneswar-based Tridhara\, under Guru Gajendra Panda. Both dance gurus have undertaken several field research trips in Ganjam\, South Odissi\, to experience Radha Prema Leela — a folk dance-drama genre from which this production draws its inspiration. \nThe production will also take its visual inspiration from Pattachitra\, the indigenous visual art form of Odisha\, created specially by New Delhi-based artist\, Bibhu Patnaik. \nThe central thrust of the production for both Ramli and Gajendra\, has been to enrich the repertoire of contemporary classical Odissi derived from the wealth of folk traditions of the region. \nRadhe! Radhe! continues Sutra’s celebrated series of productions inspired by the culture-rich South Odisha — including GANJAM\, Amorous Delight\, and Jaya Ram — drawing inspiration from the vibrant folk performing and visual art traditions of the Ganjam district.

SUMMARY:Konsert Dewan Kuala Lumpur Siri 2/2026
DESCRIPTION:This programme invites audiences on a musical journey across contrasting styles\, colours\, and traditions within the chamber music repertoire. A moment of contemplation follows with Fukuda’s The Sonnet of Prayer\, a work imbued with reflective and poetic qualities. \nConcluding the programme\, Susato Suites draws inspiration from Renaissance dance music\, bringing a lively and spirited close to the concert. Together\, these works celebrate the expressive richness of chamber music and the artistry of collaborative performance. SUMMARY:Shakespeare Demystified: THE MERCHANT OF VENICE
DESCRIPTION:Shakespeare Demystified: The Merchant of Venice marks KL Shakespeare Players’ first major production of 2026\, presented as part of the company’s 15th year of touring and theatre-making. \nThis 100-minute abridged production presents Shakespeare’s text through carefully selected key scenes\, supported by clear narrative transitions in contemporary English. Students do not need prior knowledge of the play. By the end of the performance\, they will have a strong grasp of the story\, characters\, conflicts\, and central themes—an approach that has consistently been praised by teachers as both engaging and pedagogically effective. \nOur production highlights the tension between justice and mercy–between the letter of the law and the spirit of the law. Between revenge and forgiveness. It also explores how unkindness begets unkindness and how friendship engenders love. All this is set against a backdrop of appearance versus reality. Of course\, as in most Shakespeare plays\, family\, home\, and belonging sit at the heart of the work. \nWhen The Merchant of Venice was last staged by KLSP in 2016\, it was performed 38 times for schools and public audiences across Langkawi\, Penang\, Seremban\, and Johor Bahru. The production brought Shakespeare’s tragiccomedy vividly to life\, resonating with audiences through its humour\, emotional depth\, and enduring questions of justice\, mercy\, and humanity. \nSYNOPSIS\nBassanio hopes to win the hand of Portia\, a rich and intelligent woman\, but he needs money to do so. He turns to his close friend Antonio\, the Merchant of Venice\, for help. Out of friendship\, Antonio borrows three thousand ducats from Shylock\, a moneylender. When Antonio cannot repay the loan by the agreed date\, Shylock insists on the bond’s terrifying price: a pound of Antonio’s flesh…

She has three sons and a daughter. She makes use of her eldest son especially to gain the upper hand in the struggle for power in the family. The eldest son is sent to England to study law but he becomes a horse trainer. SUMMARY:Ballet Illuminations 2026
DESCRIPTION:Singapore Ballet returns to klpac with Ballet Illuminations\, opening the evening with the all-time favourite Paquita\, a sparkling showcase of classical virtuosity. The programme then moves into neoclassical territory\, reflecting the company’s tradition of presenting both classical and contemporary works—previous editions have featured audience favourites such as Cinderella Act 2\, Piano Concerto No. 2\, Op. 102\, and neo-classical gems by Choo-San Goh. \nThis year’s performance expands with two compelling additions from the company’s repertoire: Shadow’s Edge by Ma Cong — highlighting his bold\, contemporary choreographic voice. Evening Voices by Tim Rushton — an atmospheric\, sculptural work blending classical lines with modern expression. \nTogether\, these works deliver a dynamic evening that journeys from classical brilliance to contemporary nuance\, offering Malaysian audiences a concentrated taste of Singapore Ballet’s artistic range. \nBallet Illuminations 2026 is presented by Singapore Ballet and The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre\, supported by YTL Corporation Berhad and the Singapore High Commission in Kuala Lumpur.

SUMMARY:當然，沒關係 It's OK
\nIt’s OK is a playful yet honest romantic comedy about flirtation and the courage to try again. Set inside a real café\, the performance removes the traditional stage distance — the audience and performers share the same space\, the same air\, the same awkward pauses. \nMore than just a show\, it is a truly intimate\, up-close theatre experience — where every glance\, every hesitation feels real and immediate. When a simple greeting turns into an attempt at connection\, hesitation and humor unfold. Sometimes we say “It’s OK” not because it doesn’t matter — but because we still hope it might. \nOnly 30 seats per show. Once it’s full\, it’s gone.

SUMMARY:Islands 人之島 (Southeast Asian Premiere)
DESCRIPTION:Earmarked by Dance Magazine Japan as someone “definitely worth anticipating”\, former Cloud Gate 2 dancer and a Bloom Prize finalist of The Rose International Dance Prize 2025\, Wang Yeu-kwn\, is fast gaining international attention. This certified fisherman is also the first Taiwanese to receive three awards at Japan’s Yokohama Dance Collection. \nWang’s Islands\, the second episode of “A Trilogy — Quest of Relationships”\, began in 2019 as part of the Cloud Gate Wanderers Project. On a quest to unearth his own story and identity\, Wang set sail for Indonesia where he reconnected with dancer Danang Pamungkas. From lone wanderers to kindred companions\, they explored the weight of bodies anchored to land and air\, where identity\, like the shifting shores\, ebbs and flows with the tides. \nThe result is a dance performance that captures the tenderness of the earth and our bond with it. Through graceful movement\, use of the topeng (Indonesian mask) and intimate storytelling\, Wang invites one to reflect on the ties between humans and the islands we call home. \nThis May\, Wang’s Islands will make its Southeast Asian premiere at klpac (Malaysia) followed by a tour to Salihara Arts Centre (Indonesia) after. It marks the fourth consecutive collaboration between the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Malaysia and klpac\, with the support of the Ministry of Culture\, Taiwan. \nIslands was co-commissioned by the National Theater & Concert Hall\, National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying)\, with residency support by Kinosaki International Arts Center and The Place\, as well as production support by FACP – Clare C. & Friends Fellowship. \nFollowing its 2024 premiere at the National Theater & Concert Hall in Taipei\, Islands was staged at The Place in London\, and the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) in Taiwan.

SUMMARY:Pola TAR - Mapping Patterns
DESCRIPTION:PolaTAR is a site-specific arts and fashion programme that reimagines Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (Jalan TAR) as a living cultural ecosystem within Kuala Lumpur’s creative economy. \nDrawing inspiration from everyday fashion labour — measuring\, stitching\, repairing\, selling\, wearing — PolaTAR celebrates fashion not limited to style\, but as living memory. Through two key pillars\, the programme connects people\, place and practice. \nThe first part\, Mapping Patterns\, is a collaborative project linking fashion students with local garment makers along Jalan TAR. Each student partners with a practitioner to document their craft and stories. These encounters are transformed into site-specific installations across the neighbourhood.
