DESCRIPTION:In A Path Carved By My Returning\, Ilham Alshahab invites viewers to slow down and reconsider the act of looking\, how repeated encounters with the familiar and mundane can shift in perception\, allowing what was once passed by to come into view through time and attention. \nDrawing from her experience of returning and repeating her cycling route in her neighbourhood\, the work traces her shift from restlessness to attention. Small moments that once lingered in the edges of her vision begin to take precedence\, moving from the periphery to the centre. \nA path is slowly carved through the accumulation of her visits to the periphery. Where looking again and again allows the ordinary to unfold into something expansive. \nThis body of work will be on display at The Dia Space from 1 May 2026 till 31 July 2026.

SUMMARY:Under the Shadows of Merdeka Photography Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Malaysia gained its independence in 1957. Fast forward 67 years and Menara Merdeka 118\, the second tallest building in the world\, stands proudly in the centre of Kuala Lumpur. \nNeedless to say\, progress and change in the capital have been rapid. The cityscape is filled with modern infrastructure and skyscrapers\, yet historical\, traditional and cultural characteristics persevere. \n‘Under the Shadows of Merdeka’ is a visual documentation of the precincts surrounding Menara Merdeka 118. In the heart of Kuala Lumpur\, people\, places and moments are captured in black & white by photographers Azul Adnan and Grace Ho Pui Wan. These photos set out to preserve both the old and the new\, showing how the city has developed since Malaysia’s independence. \nThis project was under the Merdeka 118 Community Grants Programme Cycle 2 by Think City and PNB Merdeka Ventures. It involved Azul and Grace photographing the areas around Merdeka 118\, conducting photography workshops for schools\, exhibiting the images and publishing a photo book in December 2024. \nThis exhibition\, held at the South Lobby of Menara Merdeka 118\, will be the third time some of these photos are displayed to the public\, the first being inside Stadium Merdeka (2024) and the second being at GMBB (2025). There will be some newer images that will be exhibited for the first time.

DESCRIPTION:Memory\, and the act of remembering\, is never straightforward. It is both active and passive\, straddling the spectrum between the vague and the clear. A memory recollected is born out of negotiations of what we choose to store or omit\, reconstructing compositions of truths and half-truths. Yet memory itself is not a place. Landscapes therefore give memory an anchor — a foreground\, a background\, and everything in between — ranging from scenes of retraced certainty and clarity\, to messy and muddled impressions.  \nGDP Architects and R+\, supported by Aēsop\, are delighted to present Memory’s Landscape: Works from the Steve Wong Art Collection. The curation and layout by R+\, enhanced by an infusion of scents by Aēsop\, set the spatial and sensorial tone for the space at GDP Campus. DESCRIPTION:On 9 February 2026\, legendary French theatre master and pedagogue Philippe Gaulier passed away in Paris at the age of 82 due to complications from a lung infection. \nOver the past decades\, his singular approach to teaching profoundly influenced actors\, directors\, and creators around the world. His philosophy of Le Jeu (“Play”) not only transformed acting methods\, but fundamentally reshaped the way performance itself is understood. \nPhilippe Gaulier is widely regarded as one of the most influential and revolutionary theatre teachers of our time. DESCRIPTION:There are about 25 students majoring in saxophone at the Soai University\, Faculty of Music. Our faculty includes four permanent members and two visiting professors from the University of lowa and Kunitachi College of Music. This rich environment has consistently produced many talented musicians. While mastering the basics\, students participate in ensemble training centered on two main pillars: the “Regular Concert” for classical music and the “Joyful Concert” for popular music. \nOur ensemble is well-loved for its high-level expression and artistry. Highly regarded worldwide\, we have recently performed at international festivals in France\, Croatia\, Taiwan\, and Shanghai\, gaining significant global recognition.
