SUMMARY:Odes To Heroes 英歌 by Guangzhou Song and Dance Theatre
DESCRIPTION:The dance drama Odes To Heroes centers around the Yingge Dance\, renowned as the “Chinese Martial Dance”. Through the fantasy time-space journey of the young man Chen Xinyuan\, it recreates the struggle history and the great sense of family and country of the ancestors in the Chaoshan hometown of overseas Chinese when they “headed to Southeast Asia”. The drama skillfully integrates Lingnan folk elements such as Qiaopi (overseas Chinese remittance letters)\, Chaoshan Opera\, woodcarving\, and hand-made beef balls. Coupled with creative dance choreography and stunning audio-visual effects\, it perfectly combines the profundity of traditional culture with innovative stage technology. It is regarded by the audience as a cultural masterpiece that “awakens the bloodline”. It has won the funded project of the National Art Fund in 2025 and the 2025 Cross-border Communication Award at the Weibo Revitalizing Intangible Cultural Heritage Ceremony\, among others.

SUMMARY:This Moment Musical & Showcase Concert
DESCRIPTION:REMEMBER · GROW · CHERISH \nWe spend so much of our lives moving forward. \nThinking about the next time. \nWaiting for the future. \nTelling ourselves\, “There will always be another chance.” \nAnother chance to meet. \nAnother chance to say the words we never said. \nAnother chance to do the things we have always wanted to do. \nBut the truth is\, we never really know when a moment might become the last. \nThis year\, THIS MOMENT brings together stories inspired by the little moments in our everyday lives — moments that may seem ordinary\, yet hold emotions we often forget to truly feel. \nBecause living in the moment does not mean being happy all the time. \nSometimes\, the moment is filled with happiness. \nSometimes\, it is sadness. \nDisappointment. \nLove. \nGrowth. \nOr simply a feeling we quietly keep to ourselves. \nWe remember. \nWe grow. \nWe cherish. \nAnd perhaps\, all these emotions are what make life what it truly is. \nThrough three stories — REMEMBER\, GROW\, and CHERISH — This Moment invites us to pause and look at the moments we often take for granted. \nBecause one day\, the ordinary moments of today may become the memories we miss the most. \nBefore this moment becomes a memory\, be here. Feel it. Cherish it. \nTHIS MOMENT ✨

SUMMARY:Kaleidoscope VIII - Hands Percussion International Drumming Festival
DESCRIPTION:Since its inception in 2009\, Kaleidoscope has grown into a significant cultural event that celebrates the limitless energy\, diversity\, and unifying power of percussion.Inspired by the theme Infinite Beats\, this edition reflects the continuity of rhythm across time\, cultures\, and artistic journeys. Kaleidoscope VIII brings together distinguished percussion artists from Japan and Venezuela\, alongside local performers\, in a programme that highlights both mastery and exploration. While this edition looks forward\, it also builds upon a rich legacy—artists from previous Kaleidoscope editions have\, over the years\, successfully shared their performances and artistic voices with audiences in Malaysia\, shaping the festival’s evolving identity. \nMore than a concert series\, Kaleidoscope VIII is an artistic exchange. Through drums\, gongs\, cymbals\, mallets\, and movement\, performers draw from deep-rooted traditions as well as contemporary practices\, creating a dynamic soundscape that bridges heritage and innovation. Each performance contributes to a larger dialogue\, revealing how rhythm continues to adapt\, resonate\, and connect across cultures. \nFor HANDS Percussion\, Infinite Beats reaffirms its commitment to intercultural exchange\, the development of local talent\, and the ongoing effort to position Malaysia as a vital stage for international performing arts. Beyond the stage\,the festival extends into workshops\, school programmes\, community drum circles\, and artist dialogues—encounters that deepen public engagement and highlight the relevance of percussion in today’s world. \nIn Kaleidoscope VIII\, rhythm flows without limits. Each beat carries memory and momentum\, linking past encounters with new possibilities\, and reminding us of the universal pulse that connects us all.
