SUMMARY:A Community Love Letter from Bhutan
DESCRIPTION:Bhutan is often referenced for one thing — happiness. \nIt’s known for prioritising Gross National Happiness over GDP\, a concept that has drawn global attention to how the country measures progress\, well-being\, and quality of life. But beyond headlines and frameworks\, what does happiness actually look like on the ground? \nThis community sharing is shaped by a recent journey through Bhutan\, where we spent time with local communities\, artists\, and creatives — observing how happiness is lived\, practiced\, and sometimes left undefined in everyday life. \nRather than a destination talk\, this session focuses on lived experiences: the people we met\, the art and craft woven into daily routines\, and the conversations that stayed with us long after the journey ended. \nWhat The Session Will Cover \n\nReflections from a recent journey across Bhutan\nEncounters with local communities\, artists & makers\nPeople who challenged how we think about happiness\nPersonal moments that shifted our assumptions\nReadings from Bhutanese storybooks & literature\nOpen\, facilitated community conversation\n\nWho This Is For \nThis session is suited for: \n\nCurious travellers interested in meaning beyond destinations\nPeople drawn to art\, culture\, and lived experiences\nCreatives\, writers\, designers\, and storytellers\nThose questioning what happiness means in everyday life\nIndividuals considering Bhutan\, but not in a rush to decide\nAnyone open to listening\, reflecting\, and exchanging perspectives\n\nNo prior knowledge of Bhutan is needed. Just curiosity\, and a willingness to slow down for an evening. \nTowards the end of the evening\, we’ll also quietly share a Bhutan journey we’re curating — shaped by relationships formed on the ground and a desire to travel more slowly and intentionally. \nPerhaps somewhere in these stories\, observations\, and readings\, you may find a few answers — or better questions — about happiness\, before deciding whether this is a journey you want to take.
