SUMMARY:This Moment Musical & Showcase Concert
DESCRIPTION:REMEMBER · GROW · CHERISH \nWe spend so much of our lives moving forward. \nThinking about the next time. \nWaiting for the future. \nTelling ourselves\, “There will always be another chance.” \nAnother chance to meet. \nAnother chance to say the words we never said. \nAnother chance to do the things we have always wanted to do. \nBut the truth is\, we never really know when a moment might become the last. \nThis year\, THIS MOMENT brings together stories inspired by the little moments in our everyday lives — moments that may seem ordinary\, yet hold emotions we often forget to truly feel. \nBecause living in the moment does not mean being happy all the time. \nSometimes\, the moment is filled with happiness. \nSometimes\, it is sadness. \nDisappointment. \nLove. \nGrowth. \nOr simply a feeling we quietly keep to ourselves. \nWe remember. \nWe grow. \nWe cherish. \nAnd perhaps\, all these emotions are what make life what it truly is. \nThrough three stories — REMEMBER\, GROW\, and CHERISH — This Moment invites us to pause and look at the moments we often take for granted. \nBecause one day\, the ordinary moments of today may become the memories we miss the most. \nBefore this moment becomes a memory\, be here. Feel it. Cherish it. \nTHIS MOMENT ✨

SUMMARY:Tributaries: Pieces of Us
DESCRIPTION:Textile artist Natalia Tan @natalia_weaves invites participants to transform unwanted fabric scraps into colourful collages paying tribute to the Klang River. \nBring your own fabric scraps\, scissors and fabric glue\, and create a textile collage that carries your chosen colours\, textures and ideas. \nAs individual collages are stitched together into a single collective artwork\, each piece becomes part of a larger whole – a living record of what a community can make when we choose to contribute\, connect and transform rather than discard. \nNo prior experience is needed. Just bring some unwanted fabric\, scissors\, and fabric glue\, and a willingness to turn waste into wonder 💚 \nAll ages are welcome – children under 12 are to be supervised by parents at all times. Relaxed session – feel free to arrive and leave anytime within the session timing.

SUMMARY:羅生門 Rashomon
\nThe story is adapted from the great writer Ryūnosuke Akutagawa’s “Yabu no Naka” (In a Grove). It narrates the story of a samurai passing through the bamboo forest with his wife\, where they meet the bandit Tajōmaru. The wife is then bullied by the bandit\, and the samurai is later found dead in the bamboo forest. However\, the versions told by the three parties involved (the samurai’s dead spirit tells the process through theshrine maiden) and the witness are contradictory. \nLike a puzzle\, this show creates a journey in search of the truth. Yet\, the truth… \n———————————– \nKnown for Yves’s minimalist aesthetic and lyrical storytelling\, how will the director take on this narrative-driven work? \nFeaturing a powerful ensemble cast—twice nominated for Best Ensemble at the BOH Awards—Fay Theatre production invites you to experience a performance where physicality and energy resonate with your own.

SUMMARY:Kaleidoscope VIII - Hands Percussion International Drumming Festival
DESCRIPTION:Since its inception in 2009\, Kaleidoscope has grown into a significant cultural event that celebrates the limitless energy\, diversity\, and unifying power of percussion.Inspired by the theme Infinite Beats\, this edition reflects the continuity of rhythm across time\, cultures\, and artistic journeys. Kaleidoscope VIII brings together distinguished percussion artists from Japan and Venezuela\, alongside local performers\, in a programme that highlights both mastery and exploration. While this edition looks forward\, it also builds upon a rich legacy—artists from previous Kaleidoscope editions have\, over the years\, successfully shared their performances and artistic voices with audiences in Malaysia\, shaping the festival’s evolving identity. \nMore than a concert series\, Kaleidoscope VIII is an artistic exchange. Through drums\, gongs\, cymbals\, mallets\, and movement\, performers draw from deep-rooted traditions as well as contemporary practices\, creating a dynamic soundscape that bridges heritage and innovation. Each performance contributes to a larger dialogue\, revealing how rhythm continues to adapt\, resonate\, and connect across cultures. \nFor HANDS Percussion\, Infinite Beats reaffirms its commitment to intercultural exchange\, the development of local talent\, and the ongoing effort to position Malaysia as a vital stage for international performing arts. Beyond the stage\,the festival extends into workshops\, school programmes\, community drum circles\, and artist dialogues—encounters that deepen public engagement and highlight the relevance of percussion in today’s world. \nIn Kaleidoscope VIII\, rhythm flows without limits. Each beat carries memory and momentum\, linking past encounters with new possibilities\, and reminding us of the universal pulse that connects us all.

SUMMARY:Turn Up & Sing - WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF
DESCRIPTION:WHAT DO YOU MEAN\, TURN UP & SING? \nThe Sound Collective’s Turn Up & Sing series provides an interactive & immersive experience where people come together from all walks of life to sing together and experience the celebration of song and the connective power of singing in harmony. Our Turn Up & Sing sessions provide the opportunity to build community\, make some new friends\, release stress\, and have fun as we raise our powerfully diverse voices as one. \nIt’s as simple as that – it’s the joy of creating something bigger than ourselves in a room full of beautiful people! \nFor each session\, we pick a single piece of music to rehearse and sing our hearts out to. In our time together\, we will: \nEngage in some fun vocal warmups\nWork through the piece in sections\nExplore the lyrics\, mood and emotions of the song\nShape some key musical moments\nSing sing sing!\nWhether you’re a superstar\, chorister\, shower singer or have never sung in a group before\, you are welcome here – all experience levels are valued in The Sound Collective. \nOUR SONG FOR THE SESSION: “WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF” \nWith Hilary Duff back on tour after all these years\, we couldn’t help but revisit the song that made an entire generation of young girls dream a little bigger. Released in 2003\, as the dramatic finale of The Lizzie McGuire Movie\, What Dreams Are Made Of became an anthem for those of us who grew up in the early 2000s. We watched awkward\, relatable Lizzie McGuire suddenly find herself on a huge stage in Rome\, having her pop-star moment.. and it felt like we were right there with her. Beneath the lights\, the stars and that unforgettable “Hey now\, hey now”\, the song was about something bigger: finding where you belong\, recognising the people and moments that make life special\, and believing that something extraordinary could happen to you. \nMore than two decades later\, we’re not those young girls watching Lizzie on a screen anymore. We grew up\, and somewhere along the way\, we started living the lives we once dreamed about. We’re still figuring things out\, taking chances\, chasing some dreams\, changing others and dreaming up entirely new ones. But when life gets busy and we’re constantly moving on to the next thing\, and the next\, it’s easy to forget just how far we’ve already come. So maybe this song is our reminder to stop for a moment\, look at the lives we’re creating\, and remember just how proud our younger selves would be of us. And honestly\, getting to sing What Dreams Are Made Of at the top of our lungs with hundreds of people who grew up loving it too? That feels like a little dream come true in itself 🌟

SUMMARY:GENGGAMAN
DESCRIPTION:A Celebration of Malaysia’s Shared Cultural Heritage \nGENGGAMAN is a joyous and richly textured celebration of Malaysia’s multicultural dance heritage\, bringing together the artistic strengths of three of the nation’s leading dance companies — Sutra Foundation\, Dua Space Dance Theatre and DiDance — in one powerful shared artistic vision. \nJointly choreographed by artistic directors Datuk Ramli Ibrahim of Sutra Foundation\, Anthony Meh and Aman Yap of Dua Space Dance Theatre\, and Zaridah Mallik of DiDance\, GENGGAMAN brings together some of Malaysia’s finest dancers in a production that traverses tradition\, contemporary creativity and the many cultural identities that make Malaysia unique. \nPremiering across Klang\, Kuala Lumpur and Seremban\, with more destinations to follow\, GENGGAMAN weaves together diverse dance traditions while respecting the essential authenticity\, character and authority of each form. Yet\, rather than merely placing traditions side by side\, it seeks to discover the creative connections between them — revealing how difference can become a source of dialogue\, understanding and shared joy. \nMore than a dance production\, GENGGAMAN aspires to be a cultural statement for our times. It affirms that Malaysia’s greatest strength does not lie in the uniformity of its cultures\, but in the harmonious coexistence of traditions that remain deeply rooted while continuing to evolve. \nThrough dance\, music and artistic collaboration\, the production celebrates universal values of respect\, unity and the joy of living together. It also reminds us that the true measure of a society is not simply its material progress\, but how deeply it values its arts\, nurtures its cultural heritage and creates opportunities for people to imagine\, create and flourish together. \nEach participating company brings its own distinctive artistic voice. DiDance\, under Zaridah Mallik\, brings a fresh contemporary energy to Malay traditional and popular dance\, challenging convention while remaining grounded in its cultural roots. Dua Space Dance Theatre\, led by Anthony Meh and Aman Yap\, has developed a distinctive Malaysian contemporary vocabulary drawing from Chinese ethnic dance forms\, Malaysian landscapes\, music and lived experience. Sutra Foundation\, under Datuk Ramli Ibrahim\, has given Indian classical dance in Malaysia an internationally recognised presence\, combining the dynamism of contemporary creativity with the discipline and authenticity of classical tradition. \nGENGGAMAN will also feature a special lecture-demonstration\, “Behind the Making of GENGGAMAN\,” offering audiences an intimate insight into the creative processes\, challenges and discoveries behind this unprecedented collaboration\, conducted by the three artistic directors themselves. \nGENGGAMAN marks the beginning of what promises to be one of Malaysia’s most significant collaborative dance ventures — a celebration of our living cultural heritage and a powerful reminder of what becomes possible when we hold our differences together. \nThis October\, come experience the many rhythms of Malaysia — together.

SUMMARY:Murmur In The Wildwood
DESCRIPTION:Presented by the students and coaches of Airfit Dance Studio \nThis production marks the 10th anniversary of Airfit Dance Studio’s Aerial Arts journey—a celebration of movement spanning generations\, with performers aged 10 to 57. \nA haunting new work from Artistic Director Charmaine Lim\, Mumur in the Wildwoods explores the fragile intersection of humanity and the natural world—and the devastating cost of human greed. \nDeep within the ancient forest dwell the elves—quiet guardians who live in harmony with the earth\, taking only what they need and giving back in return. They are the pure heart of the wild\, untouched by ambition or excess. But their sanctuary is threatened when the outside world arrives\, driven by an insatiable hunger for more: more plastic\, more concrete\, more cities\, more consumption. The humans do not see the forest. They see only land to be stripped and built upon. \nAs the destroyers march forward\, the forest begins to cry out. And from the deepest grove\, the Wind awakens—the ancient mother of the forest\, keeper of its memory and fury. She rises not with mercy\, but with the full force of nature’s wrath\, determined to halt the destruction before it is too late. \nYet in the chaos of battle\, a deeper question lingers: the forest has outlasted empires. It will survive—that is not in question. What is in question is whether it will choose to forgive the hands that wounded it. And if the earth breathes again\, will it breathe for us—or without us?

SUMMARY:Kapitan 2.0 - The Musical
DESCRIPTION:Following its world premiere in 2025\, Kapitan – The Musical returns in 2026 as KAPITAN 2.0—a reimagined theatrical production that takes audiences into one of the most defining and turbulent chapters in the story of early Kuala Lumpur. \nInspired by the life and times of Yap Ah Loy\, the musical unfolds across an era shaped by ambition and leadership\, conflict and hardship\, loss and rebuilding. \nWhen everything built over the years can disappear overnight\, what does it take for a person\, a community—and a city—to rise again? \nBlending original music\, dramatic storytelling\, live orchestra\, movement and martial arts\, KAPITAN 2.0 transforms history from a distant record into a living experience. \nBehind every turning point are people—their choices\, struggles\, sacrifices\, hopes and determination to rebuild in the face of adversity. \nThis is not history taught as a lesson. \nIt is history felt through music\, theatre and human stories. \nRooted in the history and cultural memory of Kuala Lumpur\, KAPITAN 2.0 invites audiences of different generations and backgrounds to rediscover a shared chapter of our past through the performing arts. \nWhether you are drawn to Malaysian history\, original music\, musical theatre\, live orchestra or simply a compelling story of resilience\, this production offers an opportunity to experience a Malaysian story created and performed by Malaysian artists. \nBring your family and friends\, and experience the story together. \nEvery ticket is more than a seat. It is meaningful support for original Malaysian performing arts—and for the artists\, musicians\, performers and creative teams who continue bringing our local stories to the stage.
