DESCRIPTION:I Can’t See Myself In This Landscape is an immersive audio walk that transports individuals through different times and spaces of Kuala Lumpur. \nPoetically and playfully combining layers of history\, memory\, and speculation with a soundscape\, the 60-minute work will guide solo walkers on an evocative journey through the city. Participants will embark on their walk at the Perdana Botanical Gardens\, navigating through Jalan Parlimen toward Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad. They will stop at Dataran Merdeka\, taking in its surroundings (including the Queen Victoria fountain)\, and end their journey where Kuala Lumpur started – overlooking the confluence of the Klang and Gombak rivers. \nDuring this journey\, the solo walker will time travel through the fortunes\, foundations\, fantasies\, forces and flows that once shaped colonial and Downtown Kuala Lumpur – while paying attention to the external and the internal\, observing the rhythms of the contemporary city and the pulse of their own body. \nAudio walk can be downloaded here: details to be announced soon! \nConcept\, writing & voice: Faiq Syazwan Kuhiri\nSound recording & design: Shariman Shuhaime\nVisual design: Bryan Chang\nProducer: Mark Teh\nProduction intern: Danish Zaini \nI Can’t See Myself In This Landscape is a new work created by Faiq Syazwan Kuhiri. \nFaiq is a performer\, musician\, and digital producer. Faiq creates his own original music with the rock band Terrer. The band’s EP “Kaum Lelaki” is available on all major music streaming platforms and on CD. \n————————————————————— \nI Can’t See Myself In This Landscape ialah lawatan audio imersif yang membawa individu merentasi pelbagai ruang dan waktu sekitar Kuala Lumpur. \nLawatan selama 60 minit ini membawa para peserta untuk menyingkap lapisan sejarah\, ingatan dan spekulasi sejarah secara puitis dan bersahaja dalam pengembaraan yang menggamit kenangan merentasi ibu kota. Peserta akan bermula dari Taman Tasik Perdana dan bergerak melalui Jalan Parlimen menuju Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad. Seterusnya\, peserta akan berhenti di Dataran Merdeka dan menikmati pemandangan sekeliling (termasuk Air Pancur Ratu Victoria) dan menamatkan lawatan di titik permulaan Kuala Lumpur iaitu kuala di antara Sungai Klang dan Sungai Gombak bertemu. \nSemasa lawatan berlangsung\, peserta akan merentas waktu dan menyaksikan segala kekayaan\, permulaan\, bayangan\, daya dan gerak-geri yang suatu masa membentuk Pusat Bandar Kuala Lumpur dan koloninya. You’ll hear about the city’s early settlements along the river bank and its eclectic architectural heritage. \nOur licensed tourist guides will show you the majestic colonial buildings and the contrasting pre-war shophouses\, and explain their history. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a leisurely two-hour walk in Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown\, a historic area that has a rich past and a diverse culture. This Chinatown walk is tip-based and on average\, people have been tipping our knowledgeable tour guides between RM50 and RM65 per person. \nOur licensed tourist guides will share fascinating stories about Chinatown’s heritage. You’ll hear about people who lived there in the past and those who live there now\, many of whom are keeping alive traditional trades and crafts. \nWe’ll show you pre-war shophouses with their original facades and numerous eateries that you can check out later yourselves. Chinatown is not only known for its traditional food; you can also find flavourful fusion dishes that are a blend of Asian and Western cuisines. The area is now a popular hub for trendy\, modern cafés\, bars and restaurants. \nThere are numerous rejuvenation projects in Chinatown and many colourful murals that depict the people and character of the area past and present. \nOur walks are interactive; traders are happy to stop and chat with participants. Young participants are most welcome; we enjoy engaging with the young people who join us.  \nSertai kami dalam jejak warisan di Chinatown\, Kuala Lumpur. DESCRIPTION:PolaTAR is a site-specific arts and fashion programme that reimagines Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (Jalan TAR) as a living cultural ecosystem within Kuala Lumpur’s creative economy. \nDrawing inspiration from everyday fashion labour — measuring\, stitching\, repairing\, selling\, wearing — PolaTAR celebrates fashion not limited to style\, but as living memory. Through two key pillars\, the programme connects people\, place and practice. \nThe first part\, Mapping Patterns\, is a collaborative project linking fashion students with local garment makers along Jalan TAR. Each student partners with a practitioner to document their craft and stories. These encounters are transformed into site-specific installations across the neighbourhood. \n————————————————— \nPolaTAR ialah aturcara fesyen dan seni khusus tapak yang membayangkan semula Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (Jalan TAR) sebagai ekosistem aktif dalam lingkungan ekonomi Kuala Lumpur. \nMengambil ilham daripada kerja-kerja fesyen harian seperti mengukur\, menjahit\, membaiki\, menjual dan memakai pakaian\, PolaTAR bukan sahaja meraikan hal-hal permukaan\, sebaliknya mendalami fesyen sebagai ingatan. Melalui dua tunjang utama\, aturcara ini menghubungkan manusia\, tempat dan amalan. \nUntuk bahagian pertama\, Mapping Patterns ialah projek usahasama yang menemukan pelajar bidang fesyen dengan pembuat kain tempatan di sekitar Jalan TAR. Setiap pelajar akan bekerjasama dengan seorang penggiat bidang untuk merakam kisah dan kraf mereka. Pertemuan ini kemudian akan dijadikan sebagai seni pemasangan khusus tapak yang akan dipamerkan di sepanjang kejiranan tersebut.

DESCRIPTION:When you think of KL’s Chinatown\, you might not think of its greenery. But in the very heart of the city\, there are hidden corners where trees are quietly thriving — shading footpaths with their leafy boughs\, offering a breath of fresh air and providing spiritual relief and refreshment for the eyes and heart. And for the birds\, insects and wildlife that call it home\, every tree is a lifeline. \nSome of these trees have been planted; some planted themselves. Some were once cherished and worshipped\, and have now been abandoned. Some are native\, while others have come from the opposite ends of the earth. \nThe trees of Chinatown give us a unique perspective on the history and culture of our capital city\, from its muddy origins\, through its colonial past\, to today’s crowded urban jungle and glowing national pride. \nJoin us on an easy walk around Chinatown\, to meet these leafy survivors. Learn to recognise a few common roadside tree species\, celebrate the pockets of biodiversity that trees sustain\, and see the city from a tree’s point of view. \nThe tour ends with a special chance to take home and nurture your own living example of Malaysia’s trees. Free Tree Society will provide free native trees saplings or shrubs for all tour participants. \nABOUT THE TOUR GUIDE \nThe guided tour will be conducted by Bilqis Hijjas\, director of Rimbun Dahan\, a rewilding experiment and accredited arboretum outside Kuala Lumpur. Although her degrees are in social studies\, anthropology and the arts\, Bilqis is an amateur naturalist with a desire to encourage Malaysians to notice and appreciate the richness of their natural environment. She is in charge of documenting wildlife at Rimbun Dahan\, which\, at last count\, included 113 species of birds\, 44 species of dragonflies and damselflies\, 86 species of butterflies\, numerous reptiles\, amphibians and mammals — and over 500 species of trees. \nABOUT FREE TREE SOCIETY \nEstablished in 2012\, Free Tree Society is a homegrown environmental organisation dedicated to changing how we interact with our planet. Through awareness and empowerment\, it inspires people to protect natural environments and promote native plants as a vital tool for supporting local biodiversity. \nPLEASE NOTE: \nThe walking tour starts outside Entrance A of Pasar Seni MRT Station (opposite Chagee). The route follows Kuala Lumpur pavements\, and involves crossing roads\, and standing in populated areas. Although the organisers will take all possible care to guide the participants carefully\, to warn them of risks\, and to cross roads at designated crossing points\, all participants are responsible for their own safety on the tour. This tour is not wheelchair accessible. As the tour primarily involves standing and listening\, it may not be suitable for young children. Please wear comfortable walking shoes; you may wish to bring a hat or umbrella\, and a bottle of water. Pelajari cara-cara untuk mengenal pasti spesies lazim yang ditemui di tepi jalan\, raikan kantung biodiversiti yang menampung penumbuhan pepohon ini dan lihatlah kota ini melalui sudut pandang sebuah pokok. \nLawatan ini tamat dengan peluang anda untuk membawa pulang sebahagian daripada tumbuh-tumbuhan negara. Walaupun beliau berkelulusan dalam bidang kajian sosial\, antropologi dan seni kontemporari\, Bilqis ialah seorang naturalis amatur memiliki hasrat menggalakkan rakyat Malaysia untuk lebih peka dan menghargai kekayaan alam sekitar mereka. Here\, Leonato is a Chinese tycoon\, entertaining royalty at his palatial home\, where he is thrilled to discover that the champion polo player wants to marry his daughter. As the partying continues into the weekend\, tricks are played and misunderstandings ensue\, turning laughter into tears until the security guards uncover a dastardly plot\, and finally a happier wedding (or two) can take place. \n“Much Ado About Nothing” can appear to simply be an hilarious tale of pranks and romance\, but it also presents the struggles of a family dealing with the shame of their daughter being falsely accused. DESCRIPTION:Kebun-kebun Sungai Klang is an initiative by Klang River Festival and Kebun-kebun Bangsar to beautify the greenery by the riverside and create a community by the river\, for the river. Before becoming simply a body of water that is heavily polluted\, the Klang River used to be historically\, economically and socially vital to Selangor and Kuala Lumpur\, serving as the birthplace of the capital city\, a crucial 19th-century trade route for tin\, and a major water source. The river has flowed long before us and will continue long after we are gone. What we can do\, in our brief time beside it\, is care for it so future generations may know its life as we have. \nEvery two weeks on Saturday\, from 9am to 12pm\, we organise gotong-royong and gardening sessions to maintain the riverside while bringing the community together. \nPlease note that our sessions are subject to the weather; if it rains in the morning\, the session will be cancelled. Our gardening sessions are suitable for beginners and gardening tools will be provided. Do wear clothes suitable for outdoor activities: non-slip shoes or sneakers\, and a hat or cap. Bring your personal items\, including gardening gloves\, insect repellent and drinking water (kindly avoid bringing single-use plastic bottles). \nAll ages are welcome\, but children below 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  \n—————————————————– \nKebun-kebun Sungai Klang ialah sebuah inisiatif oleh Festival Sungai Klang dan Kebun-kebun Bangsar bagi mencantikkan kawasan tebing sungai dan menubuhkan komuniti yang berkait rapat dengan sungai. Sebelum tercemar\, Sungai Klang merupakan tubuh air yang penting dari segi sejarah\, ekonomi dan sosial bagi masyarakat di Kuala Lumpur dan Selangor. Di sinilah tempat kelahiran ibu kota pada kurun ke-19. Sungai Klang menjadi laluan perdagangan untuk bijih timah serta sumber air utama. Sungai ini wujud sebelum kita dan akan terus berkekalan selepas kita tiada. Apa yang kita boleh lakukan\, sementara masih sempat\, adalah menjaga kebersihan dan kesejahteraannya demi generasi akan datang selepas kita. \nAcara ini berlangsung setiap dua minggu sekali pada hari Sabtu\, bermula 9 pagi sehingga 12 tengah hari. Kami mengaturkan sesi bergotong-royong dan berkebun bagi menjaga kawasan sungai\, pada masa yang sama menyatukan komuniti sekeliling. \nSila ambil maklum bahawa sesi kami tertakluk pada keadaan cuaca: jika hari hujan di waktu siang\, sesi pada hari tersebut akan dibatalkan. SUMMARY:Jogeton
DESCRIPTION:The very first competition of its kind that will see 200 participants joget at Merdeka Square for 90 minutes straight\, continuing until the last person is standing. In the final 15 minutes\, judges will evaluate the remaining dancers and award the winner a prize of RM3\,000. Throughout the competition\, the rakyat is encouraged to join in and joget along to live music at the sides of the contest and of course\, free to stop if they feel tired. \nA special surprise will take place midway through the contest\, as traditional joget music gives way to contemporary popular songs by local Malaysian artists\, before returning once more to classic rhythms. By blending traditional dance with modern sounds\, the competition presents a fresh vision that encapsulates the event’s theme of Memory and Tomorrow\, kicking off the festival with a bang.\nRegister now! \nPertandingan pertama seumpamanya ini bakal menyaksikan 200 peserta berjoget tanpa henti selama 90 minit di Dataran Merdeka\, berterusan sehingga tinggal peserta terakhir yang masih berdiri. Dalam 15 minit terakhir\, para juri akan menilai peserta yang masih bertahan dan seterusnya menobatkan pemenang dengan hadiah wang tunai RM3\,000. DESCRIPTION:Following January Low as a solo performer whose role has evolved from dancer to mother\, this work asks what it means to be a contemporary female practitioner of Indian classical dance today. It challenges both Low’s and the audience’s perceptions of the Indian classical dancer by foregrounding the unseen physical discipline required to sustain an art form without the certainty of the stage. Pending also examines how Odissi adapts in the digital age\, where learning is slowed\, guidance is virtual\, and feedback unfolds over weeks rather than moments. \nAbout the artist:\nJanuary Low is a Malaysian mid-career dance artist who specialises in Odissi and has been practising for close to 30 years. She spent her formative training in Sutra Dance Theatre and toured extensively with the company for over a decade. Her departure from Sutra in 2009 initiated a process of deep self-inquiry affecting how she chooses to share Odissi with her audience today. \nOver the years Low has been gently observing the rhythm between dance and life and how Odissi continues to exist in her daily South-East Asian female body. As a mother of three\, she continues to challenge themes of agency\, objectification and commodification of the Indian Classical Dancer.

DESCRIPTION:The event brings together photographers\, hobbyists\, students\, professionals\, tourists and the public through a series of curated photography activities across key city locations. \nThe programme is designed to activate public spaces\, encourage walking exploration\, and promote Kuala Lumpur as a creative & cultural city. The Photo Fest 2026 will feature a Photo Walk\, Photo Talk\, Photo Competition\, Photoshoot\, and Photo Exhibition.
